is called mastering standup by stephen Rosenfield. IIt was fun to read and I learned a lot about how to write stand up comedy. But, I think I have forgotten what I read in the book. Before I read mastering stand up I thought well how hard can it be to be a stand up comedian. Pulla few great jokes out of the ether and head up on stage and get ready to make everyone laugh. I could not have been more wrong.
The comedians make it look so easy but, for me after reading the book it does not seen so easy anymore. I constanty tell myself why do the things I want to do have to be so hard. But, then I think about it and anything worth doing is hard at least at first.
I don't know if I want to be a stand up comedian but, the idea of getting up on stage and making people laugh does seem amazing.
One thing I have not do that I wanted to do right after reading the book is watch a lot of stand up comedy so that I can study my favorite comedians. SO maybe I will get that done in 2021. I hope so. I am not getting any younger,
